How to Prepare a Custom Bag Quote Request: A Buyer’s Checklist

A practical checklist for wholesale and private-label buyers preparing a custom bag quotation request, covering specifications, materials, branding, quantity and destination.

BUYER GUIDE

A clear quote request helps a bag supplier understand your target product, compare suitable options and identify the details that still need discussion. Use this checklist before requesting a quotation for a wholesale or private-label bag project.

1. Define the Bag Type and Intended Use

Start with the basic category, such as a backpack, gym bag, kids’ bag, canvas tote, women’s bag or wheeled travel bag. Explain who will use it, where it will be sold and which functions matter most.

If you are still comparing styles, review our wholesale bag categories and compare specific references such as the nylon backpack Model 8801, the gym duffel Model 9040, and the canvas tote Model 6715 before preparing your request.

2. Share Reference Images and Target Dimensions

Reference photos, sketches or links make the discussion more specific. Include the approximate length, height and depth when dimensions are important. If you do not have exact measurements, describe the items the bag should carry.

3. List Materials, Colors and Hardware

Describe your preferred outer fabric, lining, color direction, zipper type, buckles, webbing and other visible hardware. If the material is not confirmed, explain the target use, appearance and price positioning so available options can be discussed.

4. Explain Logo and Private-Label Requirements

State where the logo should appear and whether you are considering printing, embroidery, a woven label, a rubber patch or another method. Mention any hangtags, care labels, packaging or carton-mark requirements you already know.

5. Provide Quantity and Destination

Include the estimated quantity by style or color and the destination country or region. These details help organize a more relevant sourcing discussion and identify packing or delivery information that may be needed later.

6. Clarify Sampling and Timing Expectations

Explain whether you need a sample before bulk production and whether you have a target launch or delivery window. Final timing depends on confirmed specifications, materials and order details, so early information is useful.
